Fashion Friday OR Friday Wants: Boys of Summer

Ok – so I confess, I didn’t have time to do the Fashion Friday shoot this week.  Plus, my photographer is gone for the week (Europe – lucky gal).  So I did something a little like Wednesday Wants: I collected a spattering of cool summer inspired boys items both clothing and toys.  I’ll share with you my favorite boy clothing items, since it is Fashion Friday.

Riding a bike always reminds me of summer.  Something about the feeling of the wind in your face, and feeling like a free spirit.  Both of these items are perfect for summer.

This shirt reminds me of wearing an aquarium, which I have this deep excitement to take Jax to one.  He’s always enthralled with fish tanks whenever we see them.

This would be perfect for the beach, not to mention the fact that I love stripes.

I’m not sure why, but I’m really digging sharks as a fashion trend for little boys this summer.  Maybe that’s always the case.

Featured Etsy Shop: Bohemian Seed

You know how I’m a big fan of vintage and thrift stores so when I saw the fabulous Vintage “Mom” mug featured on Etsy for Mother’s Day I HAD to write Bohemian Seed to see if they’d contribute it to our giveaway.  It was so cute and kitschy, and I hope that it’s found an appreciative new owner in Shari.

Featured Esty Shop: Jeannie n Richard

Do you love jewelery?  We do!

Today’s featured Etsy shop is Jeannie n Richard a husband and wife “tandem” who design “distinct luxe jewelry.”  They have been designing jewelry since 2011.  Richard does chainmaille weaving while Richard & Jeannie both do bead stitching.  They work daily on their designs bringing together an “ecletic fusion of beads, gemstones, pearls, cyrstals and chainmaille that rise to your occasion, daily styling and your sentimental heirloom that endures the changing trends.”

these are so sweet, they remind of me icecream with a nostaligic modern twist.

Fashion Friday: Celebration!

It’s Fashion Friday!

We are all dressed up for my little sister’s graduation!  Master’s that is.  They had the graduation in downtown Phoenix and then we went and celebrated later a Gallo Blanco.

I’m wearing a blue and white striped top I bought at forever 21, a black sequin pencil skirt, sandals, and Jeannie Richard band ring and earrings  (the one’s in our giveaway!).  The band ring and earrings are made out of beads and are super fun for dressing up.  They are all black, except the earrings have some gold beads in them.  They are a nice addition to any outfit, not just a semi-dressy one. On Jax, black gap pants, and blue babies-r-us polo he got from his auntie (the one I mentioned about the graduation and celebration at Gallo Blanco) the four above pics were taken at Gallo Blanco, out back in their pool area.  It’s a very retro, older style hotel.  The food is this amazing, fresh southwestern style food.  I would love to go back and stay there some time or take more pictures!  In their pool area they have a waterfall glass wall that runs almost the length of the pool area.  It’s really beautiful.

Featured Etsy Shop: Casanees

Remember these adorable suspenders on Jax last Friday from Casanees?  We’re in love with them!  I actually think we’re debating having Jax wear them for my wedding in August (we’re doing a camping wedding with florals for girls and plaids for the boys! Well we’ll see it’s actually planned as an “eclectic” wedding so I picture things getting thrown in last minute).  Her stuff is perfect for weddings because she can custom make any of her patterns (hats, suspenders, dresses, and ties) for your ring bearers and flower girls.

She has the cutest ties (and bowties as well) that you can coordinate for your events or family photos!

Cassandra is so talented and hilarious to boot!  When we asked her what type of personal information we could include about her in this post she said,  “basically, I’m Super Mom to my two little kidlets, a boy and a girl. Lately I play the part of Captain Hook, because the good guys are taken and they want a villain… “  LOL.  I just fell in love with this response!  I can just imagine Cassandra whipping up Peter Pan and Tinkerbell costumes for her kids as well as beautiful (matching) clothes sets!  Like these from her store:

Casandra tells us, “I LOVE sewing for my kids and creating what their imagination can dream up. Nothings better than having a unique item of clothing that no one else on the playground has!”  We’d have to agree and I think this cap is the next unique item we’ll have to purchase for Jax (after all summer is coming and in that Arizona sun we’re going to have to keep him covered!):
